Apartment "Via Garibaldi"

From the small square of the Pozzo delle Catene continuing along Via Garibaldi in the direction of the main square, you will walk along a short stretch of road called salotto di Pieve, full of interesting works and monuments.
On the left you will see the ancient Farmacia dell'Immacolata, founded in 1609 by the Compagnia di S. Maria di Pieve.
In front of the Pharmacy, you can admire the noble palace of the Partecipanza Agraria, a late Renaissance palace. It currently houses shops and flats, while in the hall on the main floor art exhibitions and cultural events are held.
Continuing under the portico, you reach the Voltone, a large portico that connects Via Garibaldi with Piazza Andrea Costa.
In ancient times a covered market was held here, and above it, there was the Monte di Pietà.
This institute was active from 1555 to 1916, the year in which it was acquired by the Cassa di Risparmio di Cento still as a pawn shop.
Above the door of access to the Monte, you can appreciate a recently restored fresco, a work of the late sixteenth century with nineteenth-century remakes, representing a Pietà with Christ and the Virgin Mary with SS. Giovanni and Bernardino.
A little further on, you will see what remains of the Cappella della Madonna di Piazza, a small church that was destroyed in 1848.
